Imagining what is not seen, while observing what does, and creating an expression of the unseen that gives it compelling form, involves mindful cycles of ideating, experimenting and exhibiting that excite the brain's reward system, permitting creators to remain immersed in the creative experience, and ultimately to produce lasting aesthetic value.  In art as in science, such pioneering creating, which advances by long stretches of meditative craft, underlies our most enduring created works.
