摘要:Space distribution pattern of biodiversity is arranged from macro level to micro level ranging from Landscape diversity, Ecosystem diversity, Community diversity, Species diversity to Genetic diversity. Biodiversity Value Chain consists of Protection Value, Economic Value, Ecological Service Function Value, Cultural Value and Scientific Value that are five values in one chain. Biodiversity value chain is the foundation of sustainable use of biodiversity in the planet. Xishuangbanna (XSBN) area of China is located in the Great Mekong Region (GMR) with land mass 19,600km², which holds the richest biodiversity in China (recorded 1/7 plants species and 1/4 animal species of China’s total), tropical and sub-tropical forest distributed over mountains and hills provide important ecological services to the head water of the Mekong and GMR. Over the last half century, rubber plantation rapid expansion (424,552ha) making up 24% of the total land and 47% of low land area (below 900m altitude) of XSBN. Rubber plantation caused habitat loss and forest fragmentation is the major threaten to biodiversity in XSBN. The environmental problem caused by mono-cultivation of rubber plantation has brought XSBN into post rubber age to face huge environmental degradation problem and climate change consequences that resulted negative impact on sustainable development of the region. This paper discuss major environmental problem caused by rubber plantation economy in XSBN and strategy and approach for rebuilding biodiversity value chain in XSBN. With emphasis on development of eco-friendly rubber practice; application of traditional agroforestry of tea planting and biodiversity based agriculture and restoration of forest cover as well as eco-friendly industry development such as eco-tourism and health-care base development.
