报告摘要：

Korean wooden cultural heritage can be divided into the movable assets as wood printing block, wooden statue of Buddha and wooden furniture, and the immovable assets as religious and residential wooden buildings of which characteristics are the availability of raw materials i.e., wood, stones, and ocher and the structure skeleton construction with every members. 

Being exposed to natural environment, wooden building heritage must be controlled conservatively against various deterioration factors. There are 168 traditional wooden buildings named the national registered cultural heritages, the 8% of whole registered heritages in Korea. These are liable to biological deterioration and anthropogenic damages. Under nowadays global warming situation, termites, cigarette beetles, moths and fungi attack many cultural wooden buildings. Disastrous fire destruction of main wooden building heritages also occur incessantly. Preventive system against fire destruction of building heritage was drastically transfigured after the destruction of ‘Naksansa’ (Buddhist temple) by forest fire in 2005 and ‘Sungnyemun’(National Treasure #1) by an arsonist in 2008. The Korea Forest Service, the Cultural Heritage Administration and the National Emergency Management Agency collaborated to include the cultural heritage in the forest fire prevention system and to make the corresponding manual for cultural heritage fire. They have established the mutual cooperative system via annual safety checking to prevent fire of cultural wooden buildings.

The Cultural Heritage Administration has plan to inspect for the biological damage of total building heritage from 2011 to 2015. It adopts termite detecting dogs, the endoscopy, ultra short and microwave detectors and executes the post treatment of fumigation, preservatives and soil treatments and termite colony elimination.
