报告摘要:

Wood selection in the past often tells us true history as well as cultural interaction over generations and nations, and therefore correct understanding wood species used in culturally important artifacts or buildings is of great importance. However, those registered artifacts are usually protected and only non-destructive / non-invasive techniques are allowed for investigation. We have been, therefore, testing spectroscopy and x-ray tomography in order to identify wood samples without making preparation for the optical microscopy.
