报告摘要：

Wood is one of the mostly used materials by African to express their culture and also in house construction ; doors, windows, beds,, coffins, transportation.  It is often proposed to use specific environmental conditions to control wood deterioration in museeum, however not all have access to electricity or energy to control environment with the results of many artifacts such cultural totems with considerable values being destroyed.  This paper will describe some  strategies that are being used and/or proposed to preserve biodegradation of wooden artifacts in Africa and solutions to reduce the ongoing decay and insect  damages.
